There hasn’t been a day go by in so many recent years that I haven’t yearned to make public comment on what goes on in my world and the much larger one that seems to affect me regardless of my desire to distance myself from it.
At first, I thought that comment on the news websites would be of some significance. I soon became aware that the news networks could give a damn less about public input, and comments to articles just got lost with the hundreds of others, some thoughtful, some just blowhards.
In creating this blog, I am able to do just that – blow off about everything and anything. I don’t know how many, if any, hear me when I shout and rant here, but at least I can imagine that some do, and possibly… just maybe, agree with some of it.
And then that begs the question: Do I take myself seriously? The answer is a solid YES! I think all of us should take our opinions seriously – or else let the politicians tell us what we think.
Here’s to freedom of speech, or what’s left of it.
